We live in an environment in which the only time we open our mouths to the Lord is when we are in trouble. We say things like “Lord, if you get us out of this bind”, “I promise this will be the last time I do this”. Or if we think we’ve crossed some moral boundary that we’ve defined within ourselves, we quickly go into church that Sunday and then the church won’t see us for another 2 years. Even the world knows how the call on the name of Jesus. They say things like, “Oh my God”, “Christ”, “Jesus-Christ”, “God knows my heart”, etc. So then why is so hard for us as believers to pray? For most, the truth is, we really don’t know how to pray. We need to go from prayer as an activity to prayer as a lifestyle.
